THANK YOU for giving me hope. Your children DID learn how to read and write, right? That's all I'm praying for right now! (Mine are 5.5, 4, 19 months and 3 months)
It really DOES get easier?!
Bless you!!

Susan, Since filling out the application and sending in our check to the homeschool "covering" we're interested I've been wondereing..."what have I gotten myself into?"

Thanks for the clear answer and look into what lies ahead.

Maybe I'll find someone to come over at 1:15 so I can just go somewhere for 2:00...anywhere will probably be just fine.

I loved reading that, Susan. I will go the archives and find the one where you hide in the bathroom for a few minutes of peace and quiet (I've done this several times myself). It'll make me laugh, I know!

By the way, following on Staci's comment, when my oldest son was about 6 he wanted to live next door to me when he grows up and gets married. I said that would be great so that I could help him take care of his children. His reply: "Do you have any experience?" :)

Your life is really easier now with all your writing? Thank goodness!! I've been homeschooling for 5 years with a now 9 year old, 5 year old, and 2 year old. My days are exactly as you journaled -- constantly stopping and starting, inevitable distractions, whining, etc. I have felt incredibly guilty about this, especially with my 9 year old who is very smart and is constantly dealing with me leaving him to prevent some disaster in the next room. I have felt like a failure to be frank. But reading your log gives me hope. It's perhaps just the stage of life we are in and it will get better.

After reading that I'm exhausted and relieved. My babes are 3.5, 1.5, and 3 weeks, so I'm wondering how in the world I'm going to homeschool. But knowing that your days were crazy relieves me of the feeling that I should keep things in a certain order--as well as the pipe dream that it might just be easy.

I love reading these!

I remember reading one where one of your kids asked, "Are you sure you know how to take care of a baby, Mom?" That cracked me up because my oldest was certain I was letting my youngest cry too much (oldest ds was six when youngest was born).

Susan,

If you choose to accommodate Laura with more stories, you should include my personal favorites; "sweet kittens and raptors" and when you locked yourself in the bathroom to have a moment to gather yourself, and fingers were reaching out to you from under the door!

Do you have more of these somewhere? I would read hundreds of them. I just started homeschooling and have read WTM. Hearing about your crazy days really helps me get through mine! You are a genius by the way.
