Thank goodness!! I've been homeschooling for 5 years with a now 9 year old, 5 year old, and 2 year old. My days are exactly as you journaled -- constantly stopping and starting, inevitable distractions, whining, etc. I have felt incredibly guilty about this, especially with my 9 year old who is very smart and is constantly dealing with me leaving him to prevent some disaster in the next room. I have felt like a failure to be frank. But reading your log gives me hope. It's perhaps just the stage of life we are in and it will get better. Your life is really easier now with all your writing? My babes are 3.5, 1.5, and 3 weeks, so I'm wondering how in the world I'm going to homeschool. But knowing that your days were crazy relieves me of the feeling that I should keep things in a certain order--as well as the pipe dream that it might just be easy.
